I'm an independent programmer and technical writer living in Northern Massachusetts. My technical interests include creating web applications, SQL design, XML applications, game theory and operating systems. I co-authored O'Reilly's Programming Web Application with XML-RPC and contributed to Unix Power Tools, 3rd ed. The Best of the TPJ: Computer Science and Perl Programming and The Best of the TPJ: Web, Graphics and Perl/Tk. I've written several articles for perl.com, IBM's developerWorks and Web Services Architect. In addition, I've been a technical reviewer for a dozen O'Reilly books covering Linux, Perl and PHP.

My non-technical interests include the works of H. P. Lovecraft, Arthur Conan Doyle and many other authors of speculative fiction. I'm currently fascinated by Mike Mignola's Hellboy series. I also am the co-host of the very occasional, internet-only radio show PseudoCertainty. Weather permitting, I enjoy walking or biking around the great city of Boston.
