The Ice Storm Cometh
In what will always be called by me "my birthday storm," many trees and power lines where destroyed in the historic ice storm that clobbered the Northeast last Thursday night. I have been in blizzards, high winds, driving rain even hurricanes, but I don't think I've ever been so frighten about getting smacked by natural chaos as much as I was during this ice storm.
"Ice storm" seems like a pretty week descriptor for this kind of phenomenon. How about "Mr. Frosty's Revenge?"
Here are a series of photos from my mobile phone of the carnage. It's pretty hard to get the scope of the problem from these. This weekend, Chelmsford looks like war zone.
Update: Power has been restored and I am once again safely ensconced at home.
