In high school, I was lucky enough to have an introduction to photography in art class. In those days, I had a plastic 35mm camera that took grainy, black and white photos. These days, I use a Cannon A10 Powershot. While far from the top of the line, this camera is light years beyond what I used in high school. It's remarkable how easy it is to take great pictures with the A10. I do not receive monetary renumeration from Cannon. Many of these pictures are somewhat abstract. Some just came out well. Some came out poorly, but I call them "art."
