Svartalf is a PHP library to avoid writing SQL directly in favor. The idea being that PHP programmers (well, me at least) are more comfortable thinking in terms of PHP hashes than in SQL syntax).
Currently, it supports only MySQL, but could easily include other SQL systems.

The development is ongoing. There is some documenation and a test script. I'm still cleaning up the interface.
Svartalf comes from Snorri's Eddas and means roughly "dwarf," those hardy figures of legand that craft the raw stuff of the earth into pretty, more useful things.
